Learn How to Make Money with Photography by Selling Photos
Welcome back! Here we are in part 3.
We have dispensed with the chore (Ohhh Ok. I admit it! I LIKE spending weeks checking gadget specs, but you might be more sensible then me) of checking 57 different photo sites, and looking at 98 different cameras to arrive at a shortlist of cameras we should consider for purchase.
Instead we have got to the heart of the matter and looked at what people are actually buying.
In effect all those folk have already done the legwork for us. They have done the 4 week review period, and their final conclusion is reflected in the fact that they were willing to part with their hard earned cash at the end of it.
However, up to now you have only spent about 10 minutes choosing your camera. And that may well make you feel a little uneasy, as you have always previously spent, at the very least, a couple of days, flitting between choices.
So, to help alleviate that stress, and assure you that you are in fact doing the sensible thing in doing this quickly rather then painfully slowly…. There is just one more step to take.
That step has two parts:
1/ Spend 10 minutes reading the reviews on Amazon for your top choices
2/ Watch a video review about it on YouTube
That’s it.
Whatever your top picks were from part 2 go to Amazon and have a read of the reviews.
Now, any of the top pick cameras often have hundreds of reviews. So if you read them all you could be here until next Christmas!
So, to circumvent that I suggest you do this.
1/ Visit the page on Amazon where your product lives.
The five we have been discussing are here:
1/ Nikon Coolpix L20 10MP Digital Camera with 3.6 Optical Zoom and 3 inch LCD (Deep Red)
Scroll down and under ‘Customer Reviews’ click on the link that says ‘xxx customer reviews’ (where ‘xxx’ is the number of reviews at that particular time)
Then read both the most helpful favorable review AND the most helpful critical review.
If you feel the urge you can then read more until you are satisfied. But don’t go overboard.
Opinions are like Eyes and Ears. We all have them. So reading all 113 (as of today) for the Nikon Coolpix L20, is probably going to confuse as much as it informs.
2/ Visit YouTube.com and Do a Search for the Camera Model with the word ‘Review’ tagged on the end.
eg
Nikon Coolpix L20 Review
Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Review
Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 Review
Canon PowerShot SD780IS Review
Canon PowerShot SX20IS Review
Pick the video with the highest feedback and watch it.
I think this is an important step because you then get to see the camera in someone’s hands. See how they interact with it and use the buttons, as well as give you extra techy goodness (in a manageable, bite size chunk) to make you feel good about buying it and let you know if there are any issues you should be aware of.
After you have done that you really should be in a position to make a decision on what camera to buy.
Let’s recap.
1/ People have ALREADY voted with their wallets to buy these cameras. And have in the process weeded out dodgy cameras and left you with their top picks.
2/ You have assessed the factors such as Price, Size, Make, Zoom and
Color and decided which are most important to you.
3/ You have narrowed down your choice and can then look more closely at one or two.
4/ You have read good and bad reviews from CURRENT OWNERS.
5/ You have watched a video review of the camera and got a good idea as to its features, how it looks, and what the reviewer made of it.
In practice, if you have done this process then the clock should be under 30 minutes and you should be feeling pretty good about one camera in particular.
Job done.
Just Go Buy It!
I got my Lumix ZS3 at Amazon.com.
There are Photo’s to be taken!

And let me know what you think.
Happy Snapping!
