In the best James Bond traditions of secrecy. The worst kept secret in the gadget world has finally been revealed to the world in the form of the new Google Smart Phone, the Nexus One.
Its name comes from the fantastic, futuristic Ridley Scott movie ‘Bladerunner’. Fitting, as Google are attempting to steal the future of mobile phones from Apples iPhone; and pretty soon people will be deciding whether its the ‘real deal’ or merely a replicant.
The Nexus One was announced in a Press Conference today at Mountain View in Google’s Headquarters in California.
It is already on sale at Google’s website here:

It costs $529 sim free, and comes with a phone case, usb cable and wall charger.
Or else $179 if you choose to take a new two year contract with T-Mobile on their ‘Even More Individual Price Plan’ which costs $39.99 a month with unlimited weekens and night time minutes.
Currently it is only available in the US, but is planned to be available in the UK in Spring 2010 through Vodafone.
In true internet ‘unboxing’ tradition. The first video about the Nexus One has also appeared on youtube (see below). Not a technical masterpiece of video making

The Nexus One looks very similar to an iPhone and has a touch screen. It is running Google’s Android operating system.
